Datenna is a fast-growing tech scale-up combining cutting-edge OSINT and AI technologies to provide governments with critical insights into China's techno-economic landscape. Our platform transforms open-source intelligence into actionable insights through advanced data processing and analysis.

The Role: As a Junior IT Security Engineer, you will own Datenna's day-to-day IT and security operations. You'll run onboarding and offboarding, security scanning and compliance training, and build the automation that keeps it all running.

This isn't a role where you follow a runbook someone else wrote. When a task is manual and repetitive, you automate it. When something breaks, you find out why.

You won't be doing this alone. You'll work closely with our Chief Compliance and Information Security Officer and colleagues across the company. They'll guide you as you turn the theory from your studies into practical, working security. You'll grow into the role and see information security at Datenna end to end.

Your mission at Datenna:

Run IT and security operations, including onboarding and offboarding colleagues (accounts, devices and access rights).

Run security scans and controls, follow up on findings and report on them clearly.

Organise security and compliance training sessions for the whole company.

Find pragmatic ways to automate IT and security processes, using industry-standard automation tools or frontier AI models, and keep those automations running.

Take ownership of the systems you build and maintain documentation.

Keep controls and evidence up to date for our compliance work (ISO 27001 and GDPR).

Stay on top of new threats and tools and propose what's worth adopting.

What makes you a great candidate:

BSc or MSc in computer science, information security or a related field. Recent graduates are very welcome.

Some hands-on experience with network security tools, for example from your studies or side projects.

Comfort with scripting and a drive to automate repetitive work.

Autonomy and curiosity. You take ownership and look for the practical fix.

Clear communication, enough to explain a security issue to a non-technical colleague.

Bonus: a background in information security, or side projects like CTFs or a homelab.
