Working as a Python Engineer in our Data Acquisition team, you’ll help develop our automated data acquisition system. You’ll work on both the generic base architecture of our scalable scraping system, taking a continuous improvement approach, as well as developing scrapers for specific data sources using this base architecture.

How you’ll make a difference:

  • Research and explore effective methods of obtaining particular web content based on different, advanced technical solutions
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering practices
  • Design and develop key system components in the data intake environment
  • Develop and improve our web scraping tools and frameworks

What makes you a great candidate:

  • Experience with Python and Django
  • You have experience designing distributed systems built around machine learning models and big data
  • Familiarity working with distributed data stores (Elastic, Redis, Cassandra) and messaging systems such as Kafka
  • Proficiency with software tools including Git, Puppet, Jira, Jenkins
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud providers (GCP, AWS, or Azure)
  • Familiarity with TDD, BDD, and testing tools such as Pytest
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science or something similar
